Juvenile Correction Center - Sendero de Libertad

We had a change of plans today - at the last minute the Orphan Helper leaders decided to send us out to the Correctional Facility with a letter asking permission to enter and spend time with the detainees. We drove out there - took about 2 hours - and they let us in. We were expecting it to be bad...... after spending 2 days at the CISNA Center, we were under the impresion that all the older boys were trouble - and probably especially those that had been convicted of a crime. But we were wrong. The boys there were all serving sentences of 3 to 7 years - the average sentence seemed to be about 5 years....... and for the most part they were perfect gentlemen. They were actually too shy to come talk to the girls...... it was kinda cute. But Bailee made them feel comfortable and pretty soon she and Amanda were sharing their faith. Then Trey and some others had a group around them listening also. It was very cool and Ben said he was very proud of everyone.............. more later

I have been praying (along with good health and safety) that lives would be changed and the youth Orphan Helpers would know the joy of being used by God. Thanks for keeping us updated about their activities. I continue to hold you all in my prayers.
